St. Paul’s Church is an Episcopal parish of the Diocese of East Tennessee in the Anglican Communion. St. Paul’s Church is located in Athens, TN which is a medium sized town in a beautiful rural setting located 5 miles from Interstate 75 almost exactly half-way between Chattanooga and Knoxville.

Athens has a rich farming heritage, and St. Paul’s Parish has her fair share of farming families. Athens is also a college town. Tennessee Wesleyan College is located in the heart of downtown Athens. St. Paul's Church counts professors and students of the college as members of her fold. We have members who have been in Athens all of their lives, and we have members who have just moved to town. We are doctors, lawyers, school teachers, engineers, social workers, business men and women, mechanics, plumbers and everything in between - most important we are all beloved children of God!

Our church family consists of around 200 communicants. A sense of family is one the main reasons, given by parishioners, for joining our church. We have a clear sense that we are one body, a diverse and open family, united by the Love of Jesus Christ and the Grace of our Holy Creator God.
