Saturday, March 10 is cooking day and anyone is welcome to come help from 8:30 am to approximately 12:00 pm.  Cooking day is a fun way to be involved if you must work on the day of the luncheon.

We'll also need dessert and bake sale items the day of the luncheon so be thinking about your contributions for this special event!

Notes from the Rector

Bible Study - Wednesdays - 8:15 am - at St. Paul's Church in the library.  Come join us!

We are with our ancestors the Israelites in the wilderness of Exodus.  This week we will have a look at Exodus 22-23.

This Bible Study is designed and conducted in such a way that anyone can join the conversation at any time- it's okay to miss and then jump back in at any time!

Come as you can, and know that you are always welcome!

Are you troubled by someone's drinking or your own?  You are not alone!  Athens has a wonderful 12-step community.  AA and Al Anon have active fellowships in our town.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets every Monday night at 7PM at Christ Community Church --

Alcoholics Anonymous® is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.

Al Anon meets every Tuesday night at 7PM at Keith Memorial United Methodist Church-- Al Anon's purpose is to help families and friends of alcoholics.

Tuesday, February 7th the Athens Al Anon Family Group will have a special speaker meeting - Glen M. will be up from Cleveland to tell her story.  Glen is quite entertaining, has a lot of years of recovery, and is generally just a great person.  This speaker meeting would be a great way for folks to learn more about Al Anon.  Call Hendree for more details.  All are Welcome!

Hendree has more information on both of these group and their meetings.  (AA also meets on Wednesday and Friday nights in Athens)  Please feel free to contact him with questions!  All are Welcome!

Appointments with Hendree+ --  Do you want to make an appointment to see Hendree?  Great!   He would love to talk with you!  Call Diva in the church office (745-2224) and she will get you on his calendar!  Hendree takes appointments from Monday - Thursday.  What's that?  Your schedule is off-beat and funky and you're worried that he won't be able to see you?  No problem!  Call Diva.  She can make it happen!  Diva is in the church office Monday - Friday from 8:30-2:00.  Schedule Precision Disclaimer: most things in life are "give or take a few minutes/hours/days" and life in the church is particularly so!  So if you don't reach us at SPeC on your first try leave a message; we'll call you back!  God loves you, and we do, too!

What does Rector mean?  Great question?  In the Episcopal Church the word rector refers to a member of the clergy who has charge of a parish.  What shall I call Hendree?  Wow, you're really asking some good questions!  Hendree goes by Hendree.  Some people call him Father Harrison (traditional church title) which is fine if that's what you're comfortable with.  Some people call him pastor, preacher, reverend.  Hendree goes by Hendree, but folks have called him all manner of things over the years, and he's made out okay!
Lay Assistant's Schedule

The Lay Assistant's schedules for the next few months will be emailed and mailed by post to your house early next week.  If you need to re-schedule or switch with someone please do so yourself and then let us know in the church office.  Thank you for your service to God and neighbor through St. Paul's Parish!

Flower Chart

We are happy to see that many of you have signed up on the flower chart.  If you have not had the opportunity to do so, please choose one of the Sundays available.  You may share a Sunday with someone else if you like.  The cost is usually around $50.00 if you order from a florist.
